The Greater Victoria Public Library and the BC Library Trustees Association cordially invite Trustees to attend a predinner reception. Get to know each other over appetizers and
light refreshments in the beautiful foyer of the Legislative
Library of BC. Under a domed ceiling, overlooked by gargoyles
designed to ward off evil spirits, listen to the work of Linda
Rogers, City of Victoria's poet laureate, as she celebrates the
role of libraries in our communities. Learn of the pioneering
work of trustees that have changed the face of public libraries
as Dave Obee shares findings from his recent book The Library
Book: A History of Service to British Columbia. And honour
the work of former trustee, Ray Culos, who gave of his personal
time, energy and passion to create a more equal library system
for all British Columbians. This is an opportune time to relax
and spend time networking with other trustees while enjoying
the architectural treasure that is the Legislative Library of BC.
This event is generously sponsored by the Greater Victoria
Public Library and hosted by the Legislative Library of BC.
This event is free to Trustees but is limited to 60 guests. Please
register on sessions page. Trustees will meet at the conference
registration desk at 4:30p.m. and walk over to the Parliament
Buildings together.
Location: Offsite (BC Legislative Library in the Parliament
Buildings just steps away)
CUPE BC represents more than 80,000 workers in more than 170 local unions and across many different sectors. Nearly every community in the province has one or more CUPE locals. CUPE members work in hundreds of occupations that help keep communities strong.
